World Stories Bank was adapted from and powered by Stories to Grow By.
Stories to Grow By was founded in the 1990s as a nonprofit organization committed to offering kid-tested stories that give children meaningful, lasting experiences.
We have since curated and reorganized our collection of over 100 stories into the World Stories Bank, a new initiative under the Lindy Foundation, also a nonprofit. With the launch of World Stories Bank, we’ve set a new goal: to significantly expand our catalog and extend our reach by offering stories in multiple languages, making them accessible to children around the world.
Our Stories
Our stories are “kid-tested” by user ratings and reviews to assure the stories are delightfully entertaining as well as inspirational for children to embrace their fullest potential.
We are committed to curating a collection of impactful stories across a wide range of countries, cultures, and traditions that represent people from around the world.
Every story in the World Stories Bank undergoes a rigorous multi-stage review process before publication. Our editorial team evaluates each story for quality, cultural accuracy, age suitability, and moral clarity using a proprietary rubric. Stories are then refined for pacing, flow, and emotional impact. We fact-check cultural details, verify sources for adapted tales, and edit for language clarity and consistency. Only stories that meet our high standards for content and educational value are published.
We are proud to be listed as an approved user product on the ISTE EdTech Index. Educators waste thousands of hours sifting through marketing claims and confusing product descriptions to find tools that actually work for their students. The EdTech Index cuts through the noise with trusted third-party certifications and insights about tools — searchable in seconds, not hours. Join thousands of schools already using the EdTech Index to save time and find what Edtech works for your students.
