Formerly Stories to Grow By

Today, we’re proud to introduce World Stories Bank, adapted from and powered by Stories to Grow By.

Since the 1990s, Stories to Grow By has shared kid-tested stories that give children meaningful, lasting experiences. As a nonprofit organization, its mission was always to inspire empathy, kindness, and understanding through storytelling. For more than two decades, families and educators have trusted these positive stories for children to spark imagination and teach timeless values.

With the launch of the World Stories Bank, an initiative of the Lindy Foundation also a nonprofit, we’re taking that mission even further. Our entire collection of more than 100 stories has been curated and reorganized into a new global library. The goal is clear: to grow our catalog and make these stories accessible to children everywhere by offering them in multiple languages and adding at least 3 stories from every major country in the world to our collection.

At World Stories Bank, we believe that stories connect cultures. They help children see the world through new eyes, discover shared values, and appreciate the beauty of difference. As we expand, we’ll continue to add tales from every corner of the globe: folk tales, fairy tales, and stories that are uplifting, inclusive, and age-appropriate.

We invite you to explore our stories, share your favorites, leave reviews, subscribe to us on YouTube, and to help us reach more readers around the world. Together, we can grow a collection that celebrates the power of storytelling to bring people closer – one story at a time.
